About us
The thought of creating the best non-chemical Christmas tree preserver began in January 1972..
Our journey began in March 1972 with a simple goal: create a Christmas tree preservative that truly worked. After years of testing—and countless batches that performed no better than water—we finally achieved a breakthrough in October 1987. The result became Oregon Forestry Laboratory Christmas Tree Preserver, re- launched in 1988 to strong retail success.
In 1989, the National Christmas Tree Association funded an independent study at a major Northwestern university to compare leading preservatives against water. Eight brands were tested over 28 days. Our product lost the fewest needles of all brands and outperformed plain water. It was also rated #1 for overall quality by both university researchers and a consumer panel.
We continued our seasonal testing every year from October through March, leading to another major advancement in January 2013. The 2014 season marked the debut of this improved formula—our best yet. Still, our commitment to innovation hasn’t changed. We test relentlessly because nothing matters more than preserving the beauty, freshness, and fragrance of a real Christmas tree.
A real tree is more than decoration—it’s the scent, the warmth, and the memory of Christmas itself. We believe in passing that tradition on to the next generation.
Merry Christmas from the Oregon Forestry team.
